Exploring Consciousness
As we live our lives, we are presented with many different ways to foster our maturation and healing. In fact, that is most of what is important in our lives. We are presented a problem, and our solution usually involves healing or maturing or otherwise changing circumstances around us. Thus do we grow.
The goal of this section is to suggest techniques that have been found to be useful in healing or helping people live a fuller and more complete life.
Much of what is presented below is free except for the time it takes to learn how to apply the system or technique.

Common Sense Living
Many thoughts will be shared below, ideas that can lead towards healing and a better life.
But first, here is a list to start as a guideline for almost everyone:
- eat well
- get enough sleep
- exercise your body
- exercise your mind
- respond when your body talks to you
- find joy in having fun
- experience nature
- listen to your friends
- laugh often
That is a list with which to start.
What would you add?

Attitude & Affirmation
In so many ways we are our own best teacher. Actually when we are down, if we find a fun thing to do or a different way to look at some aspect of our world, we can change our feeling from down to up. At times it is as simple as just saying to ourselves, "This is not really so bad, don't hold on to this attitude.
Here is one person's way of applying that type of reorientation to day to day life: “My Keys to Happiness”.

Hands-on Healing
Ours hands are wonderful. We can hold, push, wave, hug, and lots more. We can also learn to use them for healing. Here we will only talk of using them to heal ourselves. (You can look elsewhere to learn about healing others.)
As children, when we were hurt, another person often would come and hold or maybe just touch us with the intention of making us feel better. Now, we have EFT to help further (click on the link below to learn more about EFT). Often touch alone helped, but also we might have done much with our own hands. “Hands-on Healing” will show some different ways to use your hands to help yourself heal.

Meditation
“Dictionaries usually describe meditation as deep, continued thought, reflection, or contemplation.” ( "OM A guide to Meditation and Inner Tranquility," Frank J MacHovec, p. 5).
“The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices (much like the term 'sports') that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.” ( see Meditation in Wikipedia)
On the meditation page (link here) there are further definitions of the types of meditation as well as links to informative sites where you can look and decide which form of meditation fits your interests.

Yoga
When you go online and enter “definition of Yoga” as a Google query you get:
Noun:
“A Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline, a part of which, including breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, is widely practiced for health and relaxation.”
There are many different forms of yoga. Here all we will bring you is a written introduction to the yoga of physical action presented by one who has been teaching Hatha Yoga for almost 20 years. Here is that document, an introduction to yoga with a few “You Tube” links showing some of the how.

Dowsing for Personal Health and Insight
“WHAT IS DOWSING? Dowsing is sometimes thought of as “Mother’s Intuition” with a read-out device. Evidence indicates that your subconscious can be programmed without you controlling it, automatically to put your foot on the car brake when you see danger, automatically to write your name without thinking about how to make the letters, ride a bicycle, or swim, etc. Your Subconscious can be programmed to express its internal or received-from-another information. This may be done by repeated practice with some type of device or tool, until your Subconscious can automatically respond to your questions. It is amazing what we can learn from or possibly through our Subconscious.“ (Cathy Coultrips, President, 2014, San Jose Chapter/ ASD, 2014).
This dowsing page introduces ways that dowsing can be used to answer questions for yourself and even possibly lead to new directions for you to consider.

Homeopathy for Self
Homeopathy is a safe, gentle, and natural system of healing that works with your body to relieve symptoms, restore itself, and improve your overall health. This system of alternative medicine was created in 1796 by Samuel Hahnemann based on his doctrine of like cures like, whereby a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people will cure similar symptoms in sick people.
